Nolan's First Song

Nolan woke up this morning singing a very distinct "Happy Birthday to you!" for several minutes. Tonight, he dedicated the song (with slightly less of a tune than before!) to Nona. Happy Belated Birthday, Nona!! :)

Easter Nolan

We got to spend a lovely afternoon with good friends, food and chickens.  Nolan had a wonderful Easter, and so did his parents!

Bath Time

Nolan just barely still fits in the kitchen sink (someday we will have a real bath tub in our house!), but for now, he is still enjoying bubbles & bath time

Freedom for the Yard

Well, our yard is one giant step closer to being usable.

Foodie Cowboys?

I guess an urban cowboy can be a foodie.  Thanks to Myra for Nolan's new chef get-up!

First Trip to the Zoo

Chris & I woke up early on Wednesday morning, got a bunch of work done, then loaded up the fam on our bikes & rode down to the San Francisco Zoo. The first Wed of every month is free at the zoo for SF residents, but in the 7yrs we've lived here, we've never gone! I thought that, after spending an entire week on an African safari, the zoo would feel sadly lacking. But I was SO wrong! We had a wonderful time!

Nolan loved watching the gorrillas, but his favorite by far was the hippo (mine too!). It was a total ham (in many senses!), jumping out of his little pool to run (yes, run) laps around this pen, then sliding back into the water, and spraying children all along the fence by opening his mouth wide & slamming it shut. It was hilarious, and Nolan was transfixed.

A perfect, sunny, beautiful day-- we'll have to make a monthly habit out of it!
